Mystery Of Love

Dominque she goes dancing through the streets
Dodging taxi cabs and buses
She taps her tiny feet
Plays poker without jokers
Then she beats your best hand anyway
If you can get close enough
You can hear her sing

Ain't no help
From below or above
There's no way to solve this
Mystery of love

Not a sign
From the sky or from the earth
We give and get it
But we can't tell what it's worth

Black bottom anvil cloud
Complains before it rains
Follows a man they all call Kiko
But that's not his name

He lives in a five flight walkup
With a girl named Dominique
They live together
But they hardly ever speak

Kiko he feels scattered
As he takes another lick, he's
Saving up his washingtons
To get out of the city

Kiko knows a secret
Kiko knows a joke
He's sick in love with Dominique
And there is no antidote

Ain't no help
From below or above
There's no way to solve this
Mystery of love

Not a sign
From the sky or from the earth
We give and get it
But we can't tell what it's worth

Down off the boulavard
He draws another queen
Got four of the prettiest girls
Pretty like he's never seen

Cracks about his broken heart
As Kiko take their money
The losers look into his eyes
And see it's not so funny

Dominique waltzes in from the night
Someone yells up the stairs
Kiko's had a fight
She can see him
Knows that somethings wrong
Kiko's eyes are still wide open
But Kiko's closed and gone

Dominique she cries
Lonesome for her friend
Makes a local phone call
Then she starts to cry again
Talks to Kiko
Until the man arrives
Before she opens up the door
She closes her sad eyes

Ain't no help
From below or above
There's no way to solve this
Mystery of love

Not a sign
From the sky or from the earth
We give and get it
But we can't tell what it's worth
